The Corporate Menagerie – So how DID you go about writing verses to match?

The Corporate Menagerie: So how DID you go about writing verses to match?

Firstly, I need to decide what theme or message I wanted the character to deliver. As I said earlier, I wanted also to make sure that the style of writing was not repetitive i.e., a succession of simple four-line verses. In addition, each message was different. I also needed to consider the balance of each message – even ‘negative’ characters had to portray a positive spirit.

The original and overriding desire was for the Book to be a combination of education, information and gratification – something that could be read and understood and enjoyed by young and old and everyone in between. Therefore, the verses could not be too complex but mature enough to avoid being childish.
